Rise Online has an upgrade system to improve items. In this article, we find answers to your questions about the game’s item upgrade system.
How to upgrade items?
The upgrade process is performed at the NPC named Vintair [Blacksmith], located in the Dorion Castle.
Weapon and armor upgrade
- When we open the upgrade window, we place the item we want to improve in the box in the middle.
- Then, we place the scroll that we will use to upgrade our item (or apply the Dexterity etc. bonus) in any of the 6 boxes around our item (it doesn’t matter which one).
Note: We also place the Arcana Scroll that increase the chance of success and/or Shards required when upgrading grade +6 and above items, in any of these 6 boxes.
We can also increase the chance of success by up to 10%* by spending Coins or Battle Points.
* Not directly +10%, but 10% of the existing upgrade chance.
- We can click on the Preview button to see what our item will look like if the upgrade is successful.
- We click on the Confirm button to start the upgrade process. The game will warn that there is a chance that the item will be destroyed. We click on the OK button and start the process. If luck is on our side, our improved item will be added to our inventory. If not… gg :)

Rare, Epic, & Unique Item Upgrade
When upgrading Rare, Epic and Unique items, Weapon Shards and Armor Shards are required in addition to the Upgrade Scroll.
We can obtain these Shards by dismantling items of the relevant quality (Rare Shards by dismantling Rare items, Epic Shards by dismantling Epic items, Unique Shards by dismantling Unique items). We can dismantle items from the Dismantle panel (Shift+D).

Item Upgrade Fees
When upgrading items, a certain Coin fee is required in addition to various scrolls and Shards.
The upgrade fees in the tables below do not include discounts, they are base prices.

Scrolls are sold at the NPC named [Scroll Merchant] Shael, located next to the Blacksmith. Some of them can be dropped from creatures.
