The rune system is a feature of Rise Online to add extra bonuses to weapons and armor in addition to regular bonuses.

There are 4 types of runes in the game:

Common Rune	Rare Rune	Epic Rune	Unique Rune

And there are many rune types based on quality:

There are also three tomes that are used to open & unlock rune slots and clear runes:

Tome of Genesis	Tome of Desire	Tome of Destruction
Creates a rune slot for an item. You can obtain this item from the Scroll Merchant NPC.	Unlocks the locked rune slot.	Deletes the rune from the slot that has been placed.

It is possible to purchase the above-mentioned items named “Tome” with Event Coins that you will obtain from the events you’ll be able to attend soon.

You can go to rune menu checking the main menu on the right bottom of your screen (Character > Manage Runes).

You get the bonus from a rune depending on the rune quality, item quality and the item kind. Related infographics are attached to this guide (above and below).

How to unlock a rune slot

• Right-click on the item with a rune slot or the rune to apply, the Rune Upgrade window will open.
• Place your item in the middle.
• Place the Tome of Desire in the top box(es). If there are multiple boxes, the left box unlocks the first rune slot, and the right one opens the second rune slot.
  • The order of the runes does not change the effect. Top or bottom doesn’t matter.
• Click the Confirm button.

How to place rune to items

• Right-click on the item with a rune slot or the rune to apply, the Rune Upgrade window will open.
• Place your item in the middle.
• Place the rune you want to apply in the rune slot and click the Confirm button.
• Rune will be applied to your item.

How to remove an existing rune?

• Again, open the Rune Upgrade window.
• Place your item in the middle.
• Drop the Tome of Destruction on the rune you want to delete.
• Click Confirm.

Notes on the rune system

• You cannot place runes on any weapon or armor that does not have a rune slot.
• The bonuses given by the runes come randomly. You can see all rune types below.
